Mt 13: 31-32:
31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
I worked with a small group of designers to come up with the concept and style of this animation. We wanted it to have that children’s book and heartwarming feel. The storyboard went through a few revisions until we got to the one below. Even then it went through a couple more as well.
I went on a search for a children’s book aesthetic and ultimately client leaned towards Amelicart style(check out their work it’s great!) went with the end result. Blocky art style with minimal to none outlines. I Illustrated each frame myself. After that I compiled each illustration into after effects and was able to build the animation to it’s final product.
